 er will present an exhibition of work by New York City artists and book ma
 kers Ester K. Smith and Dikko Faust titled 'How to Make Books.' Their work
  will be in the gallery from Monday\, April 7 through Tuesday April 22\, 2
 008. Dikko Faust started Purgatory Pie Press at the University of Wisconsi
 n\, Madison when he spilled an overfilled case of 8 point Old Style his fi
 rst day of Walter Hamaday's letterpress class. Ester K. Smith joined Purga
 tory Press when they made their wedding invitation in 1980. Using hand set
  type and letterpress printingl Faust and Smith make collaborative artist 
 books and limited editions\, and have collaborated with over 100 artists a
 nd writers since the press began. Faust and Smith also teach Book Arts\, G
 raphic Design and Letterpress at Center for Book Arts\, Cooper Union and C
 ity University of New York. The Fine Arts Gallery is located in teh Visual
  Arts and Design Center on the Mott Community College main campis in Flint
 \, 1401 E. Court St. Gallery hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm\, Monday through Fr
