A discussion and book signing of 'The Petrified Mind' with local author, Jack Neeley. The Petrified Mind covers the authors military experience from poem "Boot Camp" to "Coming Home" when war protesters call him a "murderer and baby killer", his family and friends tell him "he has gone insane." The cries of a dying Marine for his mother in "Mommas Here."

    Excerpt from book:

I kneel down pick his head up his eyes blink open.

I see very little life in them his face ashen I know he is dying

there is nothing I can do.

I grasp his hand he looks at me. In a voice almost inaudible he says

    "hold me mommy I'm scared."

This book is a must read for all those that have family in the military and for those that feel the pain endured by the combat veteran.
