Mr. Omar R. Batson, C.E.O. of The Cho$en Few Corporation, graduate of the Recording Institute of Detroit, where Motown began and lived, will expound on the ups and downs of the music business. Students will receive knowledge from a certified Music Engineer, and will be taught the basics of recording and music studio operations. Place: The Cho$en Few Corporation 2901 E. Court St. Flint, Michigan 48506 Session 1 Tuesday September 9, 18, and 23 Or Session 2 Tuesday October 28, November 4, and 11 Time: 6pm - 8pm Cost: $150 Music Studio 102 In this 3 session workshop students will learn proper mixing techniques, music production and musical arrangements. The workshop will include two projects. Mr. Omar R. Batson, C.E.O. of The Cho$en Few Corporation, graduate of the Recording Institute of Detroit, where Motown began and lived, will expound on the ups and downs of the music business. Students will receive knowledge from a certified Music Engineer, and will be taught the basics of recording and music studio operations. This basic but exciting course is educational and encourages participations to continue learning the aspects of the music industry. Music Studio 101 prerequisite required. Tuesday September 30, October 7, and 14 Place: The Cho$en Few Corporation 2901 E. Court St. Flint, Michigan 48506 Time: 6pm - 8pm Cost: $150 Studio Techniques This special workshop is designed for the student that is looking for a career in music. In this workshop students will learn the basics of the music business and how to function in a professional studio atmosphere. Mr. Omar R. Batson C.E.O. of The Cho$en Few Corporation graduate of the Recording Institute of Detroit, where Motown began and lived, will expound on the ups and downs of the music industry. Students will receive knowledge from a certified Music Engineer, and will be taught the basics of recording in a professional studio. This basic but exciting course is fun and encourages participants to continue learning the aspects of the music industry. Session 1 Thursday September 11, 20, and 25 Or Session 2 Thursday October 30, November 6, and 13 Time: 6 pm ? 8 pm Place: The Cho$en Few Corporation 2901 E. Court St. Flint, Michigan 48506 Ages: 10 - 17 yrs Cost: $90 Song Writing 101 In this informative class students will learn the basic techniques of writing songs. Students will learn the correct format, and also understand how to format lyrics to be added to a musical beat. The class will be taught by certified engineer Mr. Omar R. Batson C.E.O. of The Cho$en Few Corporation, graduate of The Detroit Institute of Music. Session 1 Wednesday September 10, and 19 Or Session 2 Wednesday October 8, and 15 Time: 6 pm - 8 pm Place: The Cho$en Few Corporation 2901 E. Court St. Flint, Michigan 48506 Ages: 15yr and older Cost: $75 Music Sampling Learn how to sample songs. Students will learn how to extract samples for LP, CD, and tape. They will also learn the tricks to truncate loop and manipulate samples. The class will be taught by certified engineer Mr. Omar R. Batson C.E.O. of The Cho$en Few Corporation, graduate of The Detroit Institute of Music. Session 1 Thursday October 9, and 16 Session 2 Wednesday October 29, and November 5 Time: 6 pm - 8 pm Place: The Cho$en Few Corporation 2901 E. Court St. Flint, Michigan 48506 Ages: 12 yrs and older Cost: $75
