Featuring pianist Angela Cheng Another wonderful piano concerto, Brahms' No. 1, opens this program, played by an artist we're eager to see back on our stage. The concerto is an audience favorite, filled with familiar passages that everyone loves. Next, take a hike through the Alps, as the Alpine Symphony by Richard Strauss takes you to a mountain peak in Bavaria. As night gives way to sunrise and ascent, you'll hear tentative beginnings, sweet songs and furious, stormy passages before descent, sunset and still night once more.
