    Based on a 12th century Persian poem, an ensemble of actors not only uses words to tell the story but also uses dance and puppetry to create moments of discovery, reflection, farce and beauty. Filled with mystery and splendor, this production promises to be a unique theatrical experience for actors, crew and audience. THE CONFERENCE OF THE BIRDS will be directed by Bill Ward, choreographed by Peggy Mead-Finizio, and stage managed by Walter Hill. The company will include a large cast and crew of students actors. Open to all students in grades 7 and above Tuesday, February 24, 6:30pm-9:30pm (check in begins after 6:00pm) 1220 E. Kearsley St. (in Flint?s Cultural Center)-use Kearsley St. entrance If you are auditioning you must attend the entire audition, wear a loose shirt, sweat pants, tennis shoes, no head covering and have your hair pulled back from your face. It is not necessary to prepare anything to audition or interview. You need not audition in order to interview for technical position. If you are interviewing for a technical position you may leave after your interview. FYT is committed to ethnically mixed companies-students of color are urged to audition or interview. REHEARSALS AND TECHNICAL WORK Begin Monday, March 2. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday, and Fridays 6:00pm-9:30pm. Tech week begins Sunday, April 5 and continues through Thursday, April 9. Not all roles and technical positions will require you to attend all rehearsals or work calls. The rehearsal schedule is subject to change. PERFORMANCES Friday, April 10, 7:30pm, Saturday, April 11, 7:30pm, Wednesday, April 15, 10:00am, Thursday, April 16, 10:00am, Friday, April 17, 7:30pm, Saturday, April 18, 4:30 and 7:30pm, Wednesday, April 22, 10:00am and 12:00pm, Thursday, April 23, 10:00am and 12:00pm, Friday, April 24, 7:30pm, and Saturday, April 25, 4:30 and 7:30pm Participation in this production as an actor or crew member requires you to miss four days of school.
