FLINT, MI - March 3, 2009 - Are you planning a reunion for your family, class, church or some other group and don't know where to start? Are you looking for good deals on hotels, T-shirts and food? If so, the Reunion Reunion seminar hosted by the Flint Area Convention & Visitors Bureau has the answers - and potential discounts - for you. The event is for planners of all types of reunions, including family, class, military, church and sorority and fraternities. It is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 28 at Stonegate Banquet Center, 1084 N. Irish Road, Davison. Lunch is provided and the event is free, but you must make a reservation. The featured speaker is noted genealogist and lecturer George G. Morgan, author of 'Your Family Reunion: How to Plan it, Organize It and Enjoy It', 'How to Do Everything with Your Genealogy' and several other books. "There are a lot of people interested in doing a family reunion, but they don't know where to begin," Morgan said. "The idea is to let them know that the family reunion can be any size - from a few people in the backyard to a full family reunion at a hotel conference center or park. I want to give them a feel of what's involved and how they can get started." Morgan will advocate delegating tasks so that one or two people aren't doing all the work and he will stress the importance of having fun. This informative event will also include an exhibitor area featuring Visitors Bureau members, such as local hotels, restaurants, banquet and catering services, tour opportunities and local attractions, entertainment, florists and rental companies. Many of the exhibitors will offer specials for reunion planners. Please RSVP by March 13 by calling Renee Cobb at (810) 232-9579. The Flint Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is a not-for-profit, membership association. Our mission is to enhance the Flint & Genesee County economy by promoting it as a destination for overnight visitors.
