VISUAL ARTS

Artist Inc.: Running Your Own Creative Business

Add Review/Comment
If you are in the visual arts, you may find it strangely distasteful to think about the "business of art". It's no wonder that many artists, starting out, refer to making money in the visual arts as "selling out" - even graphic design is referred to as "Profit Design". But unless you have a patron with unlimited funds, or work as an employee with a steady paycheck, "selling" and making money is one of the things you need to eventually think about; and "selling out" a gallery is actually a good thing. This workshop will discuss the principles and attitudes important to any business and how they can be applied to one's own art practice.
