How to Put Together a Winning Portfolio

Any visual artist at any level of experience will benefit from this workshop. Artists will learn about opportunities for exhibition, gallery representation, commercial publishing, grants, residencies, teaching positions, corporate sales, government projects, and more. The focus will be on the quality of the presentation materials not on the individual artists creative style, talent, media or current level of experience. Topics include: - 3 Basic Types of Portfolios - How to use your portfolio - Basic Portfolio Components - Marking the Approach & Standing Out - How to price your work - How to write Cover letter, Artist Statements, & Bios Shirley Williams has been a full-time self-supporting fine artist since 1989. Her career and demand for her paintings has grown during the past 20 years as both a self-represented and gallery represented artist. In 2008 she won a National Portfolio Competition and is currently represented by galleries in Canada, the United States and the UK. Shirley Williams is in demand as a keynote speaker helping other artists gain more recognition using professional presentation practices and she was a Panelist/Presenter at SmArtist 2009 International Telesummit. She has been featured in numerous media including a biography in The Artist's Magazine in 2008, and an interview by NBC, Dallas in 2009.
