The Grand Blanc Arts Council (GBAC) is announcing a revised schedule for the annual Messiah Sing which traditionally kicks off the Christmas Season in Grand Blanc. This year's event will be held one week earlier than usual, on November 22, which is the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day instead of the Sunday following Thanksgiving Day. After many years at the latter date, it has been felt that the new earlier date will better accommodate many singers and listeners who traditionally travel on the holiday weekend. Other related dates prior to the date of the performance have been set: Solo auditions will be held on Sunday, October 11 and an optional mass rehearsal for choristers is scheduled for Thursday, October 22. In addition to the rescheduling of the above dates, Arts Council president Tom Toohey is announcing that Gene Coburn has again been invited to be the Music Director for this year's Messiah Sing. All of the above events will be held at First Congregational UCC Church at Perry and Belsay in Grand Blanc.
