From Here to There – Meet at the Longway Science Classroom for some warm-up activities and then walk to Sloan to visit “From Here to There”. We’ll make a mini hovercraft, design a sailboat and investigate a maglev train. Use a block and tackle pulley system to lift yourself up. Walk back to Longway and work together to create a Rube Goldberg contraption (a complicated system built to do an easy task). Dissections – See how things work! “Dissect” some appliances, old toys, radios and other old objects and see if you can put them back together again. Dissect owl pellets while investigating food webs. Planetarium Garden – Spend some time in the garden! Harvest some seed pods, dissect a flower and make a flower model while learning the structure and function of plant parts. Use dried flowers and leaves to make a piece of art to put in a frame that you decorate. Space – Make a Star Finder that will help you find seasonal constellations, make a star frame with your favorite constellation, and build and launch a water-powered R2K rocket.

Flint-Genesee CVB's Pick of the Week...
- The Flint-Genesee County Convention & Visitors Bureau suggests the following discount package...
- Michigan Automotive History Starts in Flint:
Thousands visit Michigan yearly to get a glimpse of its mesmerizing Great Lakes. We'll give you another reason - automotive history. Since the early 1900s, the automotive industry has touched millions of families that call Michigan home. We invite you, and your families, to step back in time and discover these incredible automotive stories. At the Sloan Museum and Buick Gallery, witness the birth of General Motors, the UAW and the manufacturing industry that made Flint a leading industrial center. Then travel 30 minutes south of Flint, to Auburn Hills, and enjoy the "ride" at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum where more than 65 antique, custom and concept vehicles celebrate the proud American heritage of an automotive original. Then, somewhere between the fun, tour one of Flint's oldest Victorian Era homes, the Whaley Historical House Museum (optional tickets available).
Discounted, overnight packages are available starting as low as $75 per night, for a family of four, and includes admission to the Sloan/Buick Gallery, the Chrysler Museum and overnight accommodations at a Flint/Genesee County area hotel of your choice. For more information, visit "Overnight Pure FunPaks" or call the Flint-Genesee County Convention & Visitors Bureau at (810) 232-3261 or toll free at 1-877-FLINT-MI.
