    “Star Quilts at the Planetarium”
    The Tenth Annual Star Quilts At Longway Planetarium. An
    exhibit of quilts having star blocks, star fabrics or a space
    theme made by area quilters.

    Michigan Quilt Artists Invitational
    Curated by Mary Andrews and Marty Calhoun
    “South of the Border”
    Take a stroll through the sights of Latin America without a
    passport! Michigan fiber artists create original wall quilts for this
    traveling exhibition premiere. Come see what’s new in the world
    of cloth, color, and texture. A selection of fabrics, wall quilts, and
    quilted accessories will be available for purchase.
    Sept 10 • 6:00 - 9:00pm • Artwalk, with food and beverages.
    The musical entertainment will be provided by Hannah Fralick on
    acoustic guitar. Vendors will also be on site.

    The Lunch Studio
    444 S. Saginaw St., Flint • Admission: Free
    Flint Handmade
    “Progressive Patchwork: Eclectic and Eco-Aware Quilts”
    Flint Handmade will feature an eclectic mix of modern
    quilted pieces by local, regional and national crafters.
    Eco-aware quilts handmade primarily by women in their
    20s–40s will be on display. A variety of traditional and
    non-traditional materials in a wide array of colors, textures
    and patchwork styles will be showcased in quilted form.

    Hoffman’s Deco Deli

    Material Girls
    “It’s A Wrap”
    This display is comprised of various styles of quilting.
    The focus of our group is to sew quilts for Genesee
    County Community Mental Health which are then given
    out during Christmas through CMH’s It’s A Wrap gift
    program. We are auctioning off a quilt in November and
    will have tickets for sale during the exhibit.

    Stockton Center at Spring Grove
    720 Ann Arbor Street, Flint • Admission: $3
    “Stitches Over Time”
    Come and enjoy a tour of the Historical Stockton House
    built in 1872 by Col. Stockton and later with an addition
    it began the first St. Joseph Hospital. While touring the
    Stockton House you will enjoy seeing lots of beautiful
    quilts, some hand quilted, machine quilted, and appliqué.
    Quilts by local quilters, Mary Jane Hambley, Sharon
    Baxendale, Pat Seals, Shirley Miles, Alta Colbeth, Sandy
    Clay, Doris Sain, Carol Loranger and Garnet Hickok. Some
    antique quilts from the collection at Crossroads Village will
    be on display.
    Have your scissors sharpened on Friday 9am–12 noon or
    Saturday 12 noon–4pm by Bell’s Blazen Blades. (Fee of $3–6)
