Registration required: 810.249-2569. In this class we will be creating modern day palimpsests by recycling and transforming old books, that would otherwise become trash. The class will learn several techniques for altering both pages and covers. Students will cut, fold, glue, collage, paint and stitch their books into new works of art. A theme may be chosen for the book, or it may simply become and art journal, or a compendium of ideas for future projects. Each class will introduce new techniques. Students whould be at least 14 years or age or have permission of instructor. No art experience necessary. In collaboration with the Flint Institute of Arts - Art School.
