All are invited to participate in Jazz Vespers—Flint’s longest-running jazz service. This is an informal experiential worship service in a coffee house setting, led by Dr. Quincy Dobbs, Minister of Music and Fine Arts at Woodside, who also developed the concept.
The service is a combination of music by some of the area’s best jazz musicians and a selection of inspirational readings—classic to contemporary.
The service begins at 6:00 p.m. and refreshments are served.
This month the service will focus on “Guidance on a Spiritual Journey: When the Spiritual Path is a Rocky Road.” Local musicians who will lend their talents to the event include Ken Pipes, guitar; Mike Thompson, drums; Annie Oper, vocals.
