Gary D. Schmidt is the author of the 2005 ALA Best Books for Young Adults, the Newbery Honor, Michael L. Printz Honor book and more. His new book, "Okay for Now" was partially inspired on his last visit to the library in November 2006. During that visit he saw the library's copy of "Birds of America" by John James Audubon in the display case and began the long creative journey to this year's release of his newest book "Okay for Now". Copies of Schmidt's books will be available for sale!
