A 12-performance run of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, The Piano Lesson. Set in Pittsburgh c.1934, this play depicts a slice of African American life in the third decade of Wilson's ten decade series covering the 20th Century. The conflict centers around an heirloom, a piano that is carved with ancestral images. the sister wants to keep it as a legacy, the brother wants to sell the piano to buy the land his ancestors once toiled on.
