    The images from the Caldecott Medal winning title The Lion & the Mouse (2009) brings the Serengeti plain alive while reflecting Pinkney's fascination with the animal world and the medium of watercolor. Illustrator of children's books since 1963 and recipient of numerous Caldecott Medals and Coretta Scott King Honor Awards, Jerry Pinkney's books have been translated into 16 languages and published in 14 different countries. The library will host classrooms by reservation only for this presentation. Call 810-249-2170 to register. This program is produced in collaboration with the Flint Institute of Arts.
