Vicki is currently involved with art instruction in Flushing through their Community Education Department, the Aldrich Art Gallery Studio and as a Guest Instructor for the Flint Institute of Arts. She also offers private lessons at her home studio.
Joe Green, a resident of Flint, bases his work on his experiences with rural Michigan which includes lighthouses, farm scenes and the Lake Michigan shoreline. His love of Ireland is also reflected in his current show with boat scenes of Ventry Co. Kerry and Achill Island Co. Mayo. His work, be it simple, reflects his feelings towards a pleasant state of being. His community education watercolor classes display his deep love of teaching. He loves to work with beginning artists to help them explode with excitement when they see what watercolor really is…Simple beauty.
Joe received his formal education from Eastern Michigan University. His work has been shown at the Left Bank Gallery, Flint Institute of Arts Rental Gallery, Lansing Art Gallery, Flint Art Fair, Lapeer Art Association, and The Sandpiper, in Mackinaw City. His work is in collections of JC Penney, General Motors, McLaren Regional Medical Center, Hospice for Community, and Michigan Hospice Association.
Rosemary Slobodian, a resident of Flushing, has an art history which spans 45 years. In the beginning, painter Robert Wood was her greatest influence and still is. Rosemary began painting with oil, but now paints in most mediums. She enjoys painting from life and photos combined with imagination. In the early years, Rosemary’s work was shown with the Flint Paint & Palette Art Group in Grand Blanc, MI. Dee Knott was a fellow member, along with many other fine artists.
Her artwork has been in numerous shows in Michigan. A more recent memorable award was 1st Place for theme at the Fourth Street Gallery Annual Heritage Art Show in West Branch, MI in 2008. Rosemary holds membership in the Flushing Art Network, Greater Flint Arts Council, Shiawasee Arts Council, Flint Institute of Arts Rental Gallery, and the Fourth Street Gallery in West Branch, MI.
