The Black Classical Music Family Festival provides scholarships to change African American children’s lives in our community with opportunities to learn, grow and have fun. Studies have concluded that repeated exposure to music and dance help young people in both cognitive and behavorial ways. This is your opportunity to enjoy great performances, mingle with friends and help bring a community together. Your support can benefit young African Americans in realizing their dreams of studying music and dance.

The BLACK CLASSICAL MUSIC FAMILY FESTIVAL started as a way to welcome African American families and individuals to the Flint Institute of Music. The event, now a 10-day series of performances, receptions and gatherings, features two of the three programmatic areas of the Flint Institute of Music – the Flint School of Performing Arts (FSPA) and the Flint Symphony Orchestra (FSO.)
