    Photorealism

In the 1960s and early 1970s, some artists moved away from creating abstract paintings and sculpture, choosing to focus on various forms of realism, where the goal was to depict the “real” and not the “ideal.” In this exhibition, works by artists exploring photorealism are featured. Photorealism takes photography as its inspiration with artists creating highly illusionistic images that refer not to nature but to the photographic image.
