First Fridays: Become a Citizen Scientist

Have you ever wanted to be a scientist? A wildlife biologist? An entomologist? Well, look no further than YOUR Genesee County Parks and Recreation. For-Mar Naturalist Nicole Ferguson will discuss For-Mar, Genesee County Parks, and the many educational and volunteer programs that help you become a citizen scientist right here in Genesee County. For-Mar’s Citizen Science program covers a wide range of topics and species, from removal of invasive plants, to identification of our native butterflies, to vocalization monitoring of Michigan frogs. During the presentation you will get the chance to meet some of the For-Mar animal teachers, including a bullfrog and tree frog, and learn their distinct calls. Come learn how you can help real scientists combat environmental issues and make our local habitats healthier and more diverse by becoming a Citizen Scientist! Guest Speaker: Nicole Ferguson, Park Naturalist for the Genesee County Parks
