    The Handmaiden

The Friends of Modern Art film series at the Flint Institute of Arts continues with an erotic thriller from South Korea directed by Chan-wook Park ("Old Boy").  In the 1930s, a woman is hired as a handmaiden to a Japanese heiress, but things aren't quite what they seem. The Hollywood Reporter has praised this stylish film, based on the Sarah Waters novel, as brimming "with delicious surprises."
