Reception/Premiere Performance of A Needle in a Haystack: the Story of the Velvelettes

Presented by at The New McCree Theatre

    April 29, 2017

Reception/Premiere Performance of A Needle in a Haystack: the Story of the Velvelettes

An exciting fundraising event vehicle centered around a World Premiere performance of the original musical, Needle in a Haystack: the Story of the Velvelettes.  The Velvelettes are a female singing group consisting of two cousins from Flint and two sisters from Kalamazoo, who rose to the pinnacle of fame and fortune as one of Motown Record’s early hit makers, but decided to abandon stardom to raise their families.  The group reunited 15 years later, and hardly missed a beat in recapturing the grace and harmonies that characterized their performances in years past. The Velvelettes remain as the only Motown group still performing with all of its original members.

The event will also feature a pre-performance gala red carpet reception complete with hors d'oeuvres, art exhibits, memorabilia displays, and refreshments.  The Velvelettes themselves will be in attendance.
