The Friends of Modern Art film series at the Flint Institute of Arts presents a drama from English director Ken Loach that won recent honors at the Cannes Film Festival. An aging carpenter suffers a heart attack, then must fight bureaucracy to receive governmental benefits. “Brims with spirit, sympathy, and candor as it tackles the catastrophic displacement brought on by economic and technological change,” writes the Washington Post.
