Kuungana KanKouran Conference 2017

Join us for an exciting, fun-filled and educational weekend of African drum and dance workshops and a concert on Saturday. The theme this year is ”Bole Moye Dolle” which means Unity is Power. Learn the art of West African drum and dance with master teachers from all over the world. New to the conference this year is Youssouf Koumbassa (dance) and Fode Moussa Camara (drum). We will be welcoming back Ndeye Gueye (dance), Cheikh Ndong (drum), Idy Ciss (dance) and Marie Basse Wiles (dance). Also returning this year is Assane Konte and Ali Rahmaan of KanKouran West African Dance Company from Washington D.C.

The highlight of the weekend is the conference concert on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 8:00 PM which will include our own Kuungana drummers and dancers, beautiful African costumes and the best African drumming and dancing in the country. This is a vibrant, exciting concert that you don’t want to miss.
