Before Michigan statehood and the waves of pioneers came to the Great Lakes State, surveyors performed their critical and at times dangerous task. Using a combination of historic maps, objects and period costume, Victor Lukasavitz, President of Gould Engineering, outlines the trials and tribulations that faced the early surveyors and settlers of Michigan. Family Event Option: Mini-History Hunt for the kids while the To Survey a State program is underway.
