There is no fear, no pain and no memory. And no one questions that it could be otherwise—ever. This is the only world young Jonas has ever known, but when he turns twelve, he learns he has the power to “see beyond” it. With the help of a wise man called The Giver, Jonas discovers he has the ability to challenge everything he has been told. But does he dare to confront the world about its forgotten humanity and run the risk of upsetting the balance of life as everyone knows it?
