ARTHUR, KING OF BRITAIN From the novel THE PENDRAGON Written by Catherine Christian Adapted and Directed by William P. Ward Choreographed by Margaret A. Mead-Finizio All ages 10 and up Upon the departure of the Roman Legions, Britain inherits an era of chaos and the land is plunged into a time that will come to be called The Dark Ages. In this morass a single beacon of hope flickers— a young Celtic War Duke named Arthur the Pendragon. As he sets out to fulfill his destiny, to heal the scarred land by restoring order, government and civility, he must overtake and tame many foes of the realm. This is the story of Arthur of the Round Table—at once familiar but at the same time made new. We have never known this Camelot, this Lancelot, this Guinevere, yet we are persuaded of their actual existence in a dark and turbulent world of war, sorcery, of Druid priestesses and Christian abbots, of wandering outlaws, bards and knights. Here are the Arthurian myths opened up to reveal their historical truths. A story so ancient only legend can record its origin.
