Review/Comment
Musical theatre production following the musical odyssey of Harvey Fuqua, founder and lead singer of the seminal R & B group, the Moonglows across five decades of soul music, beginning with Alan Freed discovering the Moonglows in Cleveland in 1953, their numerous concert tours with Freed and other promoters, Harvey's stint with Motown Records as Artist Development guru, his involvement with Fuqua III Productions and New Birth, and his trek into disco with Sylvester and Two Tons of Fun. Along the way, Harvey discovers Marving Gaye, the Dells, Etta James, Shorty Long, Junior Walker, and the Spinners. The story ends with his induction, along with the other original Moonglows, into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Some the most explosive music was presented at the opening with new voices and songsters at The New McCree Theatre. Who would of thought that the city of Flint has the talent it keeps exuding time after time. Man oh-pete-oh what a wonderful cast. The stage is set so that ones imagination can take them through the time zone of music. And the band what a combination of players. They too set the mood of the most exciting time periods. My hat off to them all. Thanks McCree for bringing back the best of the african american artist that Flint has to offer. Keep up the good work. This space is providing such a positive arena for the community. Continue, continue, continue. It was extremely a pleasure to be filled with entertainment, history, connections to the music, and watching our town shine. Let me also give kudos to the tech people who assured us with a visually kinestetic connection to the actors. Thanks bunches and again keep up the good work. Collapse
