An FYT Original Production... YOURS TRULY, JACK THE RIPPER Written by William P. Ward Directed by Walter Hill All ages 12 and up In the summer and autumn of 1888, at least five women were brutally murdered and their bodies mutilated in an area in the East End of London known as Whitechapel. A dark labyrinth of twisting brick streets and alleyways shrouded in mist and only randomly pierced by sputtering gaslights served as the hunting ground of a fiendish killer whom the world would come to know as Jack the Ripper. While many suspects emerged at the time, no one was ever apprehended as the true murderer. And in the nearly 120 intervening years, in fact to this very day, names and theories and new evidence continue to swirl around the world's first urban serial killer. In the final analysis, however, only two things about this grisly story are certain: Jack the Ripper, whatever his real identity, is surely dead but his story is definitely alive. Advisory: Due to graphic descriptions and violent imagery, YOURS TRULY, JACK THE RIPPER is not intended for children
