The Flint Jazz Festival

The Flint Jazz Festival is held in Riverbank Park in downtown Flint. The Festival provides a venue for local talent and helps cultivate Flint's local music scene. The festival also gives attendees a chance to see regional and national headliners perform. Food vendors, local non-profit organizations, and arts and handicraft vendors add to the magic and color of the Festival. Flint Jazz Festival brings together a diverse crowd of over 10,000 people in downtown Flint. The 2009 Festival will be the 28th Annual Flint Jazz Festival.

      Hey Flint - come out and see Sherman Mitchell on Saturday!!! He is your living treasure of jazz, and the great Detroit pianist Charles Boles will be in his band. Mr. Mitchell is approaching his 80th birthday, and still plays strong jazz. You owe it to yourself to hear a living legend, and Flint's favorite son of this music. No excuses!!! Collapse

      I attended the 2007 festival and it was nice. It wasn't a thrill a minute, but there was a nice variety of acts and I like the riverfront park. I'm looking forward to it again this year.
