      the flint symphony was at its best saturday night when they presented Mahlers 7th symphony from the gentle quiet moments to the powerful ending. looked like even the conductor was moved to tears.... Expand

      the flint symphony was at its best saturday night when they presented Mahlers 7th symphony from the gentle quiet moments to the powerful ending. looked like even the conductor was moved to tears. the flint symphony is getting better everytime i hear them. earlier in the evening the crowd was treated to a redition of renikies concerto for flute and orchustra conor nelson (byrd winner 2009) did the solos he was outstanding.next concert is febuary 20th dont miss this great group.       The 2009 FSO Holiday Pops concert was fantastic as I've come to expect, but in particular, the 12 Days of Christmas was an absolute masterpiece! At first I thought... oh, this is going to take a long time... but as it went on I didn't want it to end. It was full of surprises and creativity, and the soloist singer was so powerful - great job!!       This concert was outstanding! The soloists, especially Pia Broden-Williams, were superb and exciting. But why was summer conductor David Mairs not even mentioned in any of the concert information.... Expand

      This concert was outstanding! The soloists, especially Pia Broden-Williams, were superb and exciting. But why was summer conductor David Mairs not even mentioned in any of the concert information. He is such a class act, not only as a gifted musician but as an engaging performer and "narrator" who was able to involve the audience in everything that happened last night. Without him, the concert would have not been nearly as special as it was. Collapse
