Education may be the key to success in Nigeria, but money does the talking; at what price? Adaobi Nwaubani started writing stories before the age of ten and earned her first income from winning a writing competition at the age of 13. That was the first of several writing competition wins. At 15 she was awarded best poet and playwright in school.

Participants must bring their own digital camera (no cell phone cameras) with a fully charged battery, and empty SD or memory card and your camera's instructional manual, if possible.       What a connecting point to listen to stories come to life from the vocal gymnastics of the tellers. How the worlds they tell about come to life. Watching and listening to them as they massage the inner cortexes for the journey. Waiting for this years Storytelling Festival to spring to life. Appreciating the many years that the FPL has made this possible for myself and my children. We have appreciated this option to television and the movies especially with the many tellers in our community that have presented one time or another for my children's birthdays, graduations and our life stories at our family reunions. What a gift to anyone you can give which has lasting effects and memories. Keep up the good work FPL and please continue the living spoken word art which comes with each of the tellers you have had over the years. What a blessing for the FPL-Flint to have such a wonderful event for the community. Enriching childrens lives through the art of reading. Thank You so much. FREE 2 C Collapse

      The Flint Public Library's 25th annual presentation of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Community Celebration will be a blast!!! Me and my family look forward to it every year. I am sooooo exicted that Antwaun Stanley and the Mayor will will represent the city at this wonderful event as they are both young and full of hope and inspiration. For me, it's a blessing to have my children see home at its best, with the best of Flint!!!! Flint loves you forever Antwaun no matter how far or where you go. It all started here in Flint-town!!!!       What a joy it was to hear Robyn Henry, a local teller, at the Flint Public Library tonight! Robyn shared insightful stories about a turtle, a frog as well as fresh strawberries. I am so happy the library offered some Native American programming. Robyn annouced that she and other Flint area storytellers will be performing again at the library for "Tellabrations" on the 22nd. I plan to be back for that. Collapse
