The Motown Story, a musical

Presented by The New McCree Theatre at The New McCree Theatre

The Motown Story is a musical written by Charles H. Winfrey that tells the story or one man’s determination to succeed against all odds.  It is the story of Berry Gordy, erstwhile songwriter, who dreamed of bigger things.  Though hard work and perseverance, he achieved that dream by creating one of the most dynamic recording companies in this country’s history, the Motown Record Company.  He singlehandedly harnessed the burgeoning talent in the city of Detroit to create a musical dynasty.  His story is accented by the beautiful music and stellar talent that was generated as Motown evolved from its origins to its move to Los Angeles..
