Tonya Henderson Rollyson
Visual Artist
About the artist:
Although I enjoy working in varied mediums, including watercolor, pastel and linocut. My main body of work has been created using acrylics. Many of my images are inspired from life experiences. In the past, a trip to the beach, a walk in the woods or an after school activity with my children provided inspiration. My most recent work consists of images, from within. A catalogue or diary of my thoughts, feelings, internal struggles & conflicts of my mind. These works are a journey of self-discovery and an attempt to tear down the wall that I built trying to feel ordinary and normal. As a body of work they could be viewed as a self-portrait. Individually they are an attempt to speak my truth. While I catalogue my mind on canvas, my desire is to reject the ordinary, reveal the extraordinary and become whole. I hope that by viewing my work your spirit is renewed, your soul uplifted and you find the courage within yourself to do the same?Be Whole, free of wound or injury, mind, body and spirit.
