I'm happy to know that finally someone is thinking of doing something special on that day. May I suggest to make it even more special for the child/children that will be there and who are born on that very special day... lots of these children are told each year that they don't have a birthday and as a child it can be hurtful as they don't always understand... I know this as I've been there too (I am a leap day baby). My best to all and Happy Birthday to those born on Feb. 29! :) Collapse

This hair donation event was so simple, yet helped MANY children in need! I thought is was a GREAT gesture of Courtland Center & the participating salons to hold such a charitable event!

Queen Mad was true to her character's allure. Enchanting, dangerous and effortless in movement. Juliet was the picture of innocence and young love. Overall, the choreography was amazing. This version is filled with symbols and imagery in hopes of bring the full scope of Shakespeare's tragic tale to life. The problem is that, one got lost in the imagery. It was more like a labyrinth than a love story. Reading the program did not help. Over all, it was a great performance. Just bring a cliff note along. Collapse

"Sara Robinson was fairly riveting ...Her portrayal of the young Hughes grappling with her sexual identity in a conservative family through to the mature depiction of her adult relationship with her life partner was nearly mesmerizing... comic and tragic at once, evoking nervous chuckles and a modicum of understanding... Robinson brings an empathy to the message that reaches out and begs to be at least understood." -Kathleen Kirby, THE FLINT JOURNAL Collapse

Some the most explosive music was presented at the opening with new voices and songsters at The New McCree Theatre. Who would of thought that the city of Flint has the talent it keeps exuding time after time. Man oh-pete-oh what a wonderful cast. The stage is set so that ones imagination can take them through the time zone of music. And the band what a combination of players. They too set the mood of the most exciting time periods. My hat off to them all. Thanks McCree for bringing back the best of the african american artist that Flint has to offer. Keep up the good work. This space is providing such a positive arena for the community. Continue, continue, continue. It was extremely a pleasure to be filled with entertainment, history, connections to the music, and watching our town shine. Let me also give kudos to the tech people who assured us with a visually kinestetic connection to the actors. Thanks bunches and again keep up the good work. Collapse
