I Am Not Your Negro

This Oscar-nominated documentary, based on James Baldwin’s unfinished manuscript “Remember This House,” will be shown in the Friends of Modern Art film series at the Flint Institute of Arts. Narrated by actor Samuel L. Jackson, it explores the history of racism in the U.S. through Baldwin’s reminiscences of civil rights leaders Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
