The Friends of Modern Art film series at the Flint Institute of Arts presents a documentary about the early years of the influential artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

This film explores the pre-fame years of the celebrated American artist and how New York City, the times, the people, and the movements around him formed the creative force he became.
