The Friends of Modern Art film series at the Flint Institute of Arts presents a funny-sad comedy about show business that earned Melissa McCarthy many recent acting honors.
McCarthy earned a Best Actress Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of an entertainment journalist who hits hard times and turns to deception to make ends meet. As the writer’s partner in crime, Richard E. Grant was an Oscar nominee for supporting actor.
