The Friends of Modern Art film series at the Flint Institute of Arts continues with the story behind “Fiddler on the Roof,” one of Broadway’s most beloved musicals.
“Fiddler on the Roof” was feared to be a failure when it premiered in 1964 in New York City, where “tradition” was declining as gender, race, religious, and sexuality issues were evolving. So why does it have widespread global appeal six decades later?
