Flint Community Schools Virtual Summer Camp@Home for Kindergarten through 5th

Inspiring confidence and creativity through independent, hands-on exploring. As well as, daily challenges to motivate children to go outdoors, get active and stretch their imaginations.

Hello Flint Community Schools parents. We are offering a summer exploration experience for our Flint scholars.  Registration for Summer programming is OPEN NOW. Inspiring confidence and creativity through hands-on activities. There are four programs available: Kindergarten Boot Camp@Home for Pre-K, Virtual Summer Camp@Home for Kindergarten through 5th Grade and for middle school 6th through 8th Grade, as well as Credit Recovery 9th through 12th Grade.  Program space is limited. Virtual Summer Camp @Home Kindergarten through 5th Grade

Camp Theme/Topic

June 29 – July 2 Flight Camp: Principles of flight. Going outdoors to experiment with paper planes and hand-copters and customize their very own flight simulation robot.
July 6 – 9 Design Camp: Children use the materials in their kit to create sketches, build and test prototypes, design logos and confidently pitch their products.
July 13 – 16 Design Camp: Children use the material in their kit to create sketches, build and test prototypes, design logos and confidently pitch their products.
July 20 – 23 Champion Camp: Students will use design thinking to design and build the ultimate sports complex, and then head outside to play their new games.

Daily Sessions and Breakouts

Music Classes
Hands on, small group lessons integrating reading and math
Storytime or individual reading intervention
Physical fitness and Mindfulness
Virtual Field Trips include Smithsonian National Museum of African American History, San Diego and Cincinnati Zoos, Tour of Mars and Monterey Aquarium
