In the aftermath of World War I, a young German woman who grieves the death of her fiancé in France meets a mysterious Frenchman who visits the fiancé’s grave to lay flowers. French writer-director François Ozon thoughtfully recalls the mourning period that follows great national tragedies as seen by the war’s “lost generation.” This is a presentation of the Friends of Modern Art film series at the Flint Institute of Arts.
