Free Family Fitness Pop-up Workout

As a part of our ongoing community involvement, one of Harambee Wellness’ goals for 2018 is to host at least one free “Pop Up Workout” per month.  The workouts vary from Zumba to Boot Camp in various non-traditional locations in the Greater Flint Area.  We strive not only to make fitness accessible, but to also show the community that fitness can happen anywhere!

Our 8th Free Pop-up Workout will be on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:30am, at Factory Two in Flint, MI.  In observance Childhood Obesity Awareness Month (September), we decided to focus on “Family Fitness.” According to the CDC, nearly 1 in 5 school age children and young people (6 to 19 years) in the United States has obesity, which has immediate and long-term effects on their physical, social, and emotional health. This event encourages parents and caregivers to bring children for a free and fun workout. In addition to exercise, the Pop-up Workout will include information on maintaining an active lifestyle, giveaways for all participants and refreshments, including hot and cold beverages provided by The Daily Brew.
