Memphis the Musical

Presented by The New McCree Theatre at Northwestern High School, Flint MI

Oct 03 - 19 2019
Memphis the Musical

Take a look back at the 50’s when R & B was king. Huey Calhoun is playing Black music before it was popular to do so. Besides, he was infatuated by the beautiful and talented Felicia Farrell, an up and coming torch singer of African descent.

Memphis the Musical tells the fictional story of DJ Huey Calhoun (based loosely on real life DJ, Dewey Phillips, who began playing Black music as early as 1952) a good ole boy with a passion for R & B music and Felicia Farrell, an up and coming Black singer.  This love story is punctuated with riveting song and dance numbers.  Visit McCree Theatre is our new home on the Northwestern Campus, 2138 W. Carpenter Road from October 3 – 19, 2019.  Performances on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m.
