The Warrior Queen of Jhansi

The Friends of Modern Art film series at the Flint Institute of Arts presents a historical drama produced by the United Kingdom and set in 1850s India.

This tells the story of Rani, a feminist icon in India who, at age 24, led her people into battle against the British Empire as a “Joan of Arc of the East.” Also in the cast are Devika Bhise, Jodhi May, Rupert Everett, and Derek Jacobi.
