Cathy E. Johnson Educator/Storyteller/Actor/Dancer/Choreographer/ Director/ Stage Manager/ Technician/Clinician/Program Developer /Adjunct Professor/Community Activist — has been involved in serving our community for over 45 years in arts, culture, and community building events. Cathy’s primary responsibilities are to walk with GOD while being lead on this journey’s path.

Cathy is presently the program director at Greater Flint Arts Council. These responsibilities include maintaining many of the council’s programs (including monthly exhibitions, arts education, volunteer retention, administration of the Minigrant program, events and festival management). Cathy, over the years has developed programs for many of the entities which are part of the Flint Cultural Campus in Flint, Michigan as well as Flint Board of Education.

Cathy has helped to develop the musical performance presentation for the Flint Troubadour program through the Flint Institute of Music. Utilizing the experiences gleaned while working at McCree Theatre and Flint Youth Theatre her skills were sought after to develop the Troubadours. Musically, Cathy has played percussion with many of the African Drum and Dance companies in Flint and has taken percussion classes with Mott Community College while playing with Delana Oberman and Lois Laughlin-Semple.

Cathy has experience directing, choreographing, stage managing and developing programs at McCree Theatre. Cathy is the proud mother of 2 sons, Anthony & Fabian both residing in Kansas City, Missouri, also the proud Mi-Maw of 14 beautiful grandchildren.
