In 1986, Rich Tesner started his creative career as a graphic designer, working at various advertising agencies throughout mid-Michigan. In 1997, Rich was invited to become a graphic communications instructor at Baker College, where he taught drawing, color theory, principles of design, and desktop publishing.

In 2010, Rich expanded his creative skills by pursuing art classes at the Flint Institute of Arts in Flint, Michigan. Over the last several years, Rich has worked with numerous local and national artists to develop his skills as an acrylic and oil painter. His artwork has been displayed at the Flint Institute of Arts, the Shiawassee Arts Center, and at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids. His paintings have also received several recognitions, including merit awards at the Saginaw Township’s Art in Public Places and at the Shiawassee Arts Center Annual Member’s Show. Recently, Rich’s painting “Wailea Honu” was selected to be in the National Oil & Acrylic Painter’s Society (NOAPS) Online International Fall 2017 Exhibit.

Today, Rich is an avid artist, continuing his studies at the FIA and working from his home in Flushing, specializing in both oil and acrylic paints.
