This year’s lineup of world renown musicians is one of the best ever. “Our headliners are not to be missed,” says the ever-enthusiastic Greg Fiedler, President and CEO of the Greater Flint Arts Council. On Wednesday July 27 we will kick off the celebration with a special concert by the renowned vocalist, Peabo Bryson (https://www.peabobryson2.com/)  at the Capitol Theatre. “You normally have to drive to Detroit to see this caliber of entertainment,” says Greg Fiedler,

On Thursday night we will carry on a tradition started ten years ago…JAZZWALK, JAZZWALK, JAZZWALK !!!  The 2022 Jazzwalk will take place in five downtown venues including White Horse Tavern, Cork on Saginaw, Xolo, Market Tap and both of the Hilton Garden Hotel’s clubs, Sauce and Simmer.

The weekend continues just as hot with some of the most renowned headliner musicians in the history of jazz. “Guitarist, Lee Ritenour (https://leeritenour.com/)  gets things started on Friday with an incredible group of international musicians. On Saturday, we’re featuring pianist, Bob James (https://bobjames.com/) . Then, we finish big on Sunday evening with flutist, Alexander Zonjic (https://www.zonjic.com/) .

As always, the festival also features a talented mix of local and regional artists who will be hitting all the high notes starting at 5:30 on Friday, 1:30 on Saturday and 2 o’clock on Sunday, including the festival founders, The Peoples’ Jazz Band. Headliners take the stage each evening at 7pm (See the full schedule attached).

Seating is not provided, so bring your cushions, blankets and folding chairs and then, sit back and relax.

Admission to Peabo Bryson ranges from $55-$75 and can be purchased at the Whiting box office (https://www.thewhiting.com/events/box-office)  . The admission for JAZZWALK is free.  Admission to Riverbank Park Fri-Sun is $10 per day or $20 for a weekend pass. The weekend pass is only available on Friday and there are no advance sales. Tickets are cash only at the gate.

No outside food or beverages are allowed. Instead, organizers encourage attendees to support the vendors on-site, so they will be able to afford to serve us in the coming years.
