Flint River Fest

Presented by Flint River Corridor Alliance at Grand Fountain

Everyone is invited to join the fun at the first ever Flint River Fest. The festivities will highlight the exciting improvements along the Flint River including work at Chevy Commons, Riverbank Park and the Hamilton Dam. The event will take place on Friday, October 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. and is presented by The Hagerman Foundation. The entire community is invited to attend the free event and is hosted by the Flint River Corridor Alliance (FRCA), the Flint River Watershed Coalition and the Flint Downtown Development Authority.

FRCA Director Janet Van De Winkle said, “The Flint River Fest is a great way for community members to see all the improvements that have been made along the river.  We also want to share plans for upcoming projects to showcase what is in store for the river in 2016. We plan to make this an annual event for the community and hope to have a great turnout for our inaugural year.”

The event will be held at the Grand Fountain located on 1st Avenue between Saginaw and Garland Streets in downtown Flint.  There is no cost to attend the festivities.  The Flint River Fest will coincide with the monthly Second Friday Artwalk.  Besides enjoying free food and drinks, attendees will have a chance to win kayaks throughout the evening.  The night will culminate with a fireworks display at dark.
