Biology, Genes and Homosexuality – Understanding Our Nature So We Can Nurture presented by Dr. Charissa Urbano.

Is it nature or nurture that determine our sexuality and gender identity? Learn more about the interplay of genes and hormones during prenatal development. Let’s unravel the myth of choice, learn more about the complexity of sexual differentiation and use this information to nurture our inner selves and each other.

Dr. Charissa Urbano is a biology professor at Delta College. She has developed several classes that include LGBT topics and issues including an honors bio class titled Heredity and Sexuality and an interdisciplinary class titled Exploring Diversity.  She earned a doctorate in biology from Ball State University and continues to share the latest research on the impact of genes, biology and culture on human variation.

Presentation hosted by Genesee County PFLAG will begin at 3:30pm.

Please join us for refreshments/fellowship prior to the presentation at 3pm.  Individuals wishing to attend a support group should arrive at 2pm.
