Flint Recovery Music & Art Show

Flint Recovery Music & Art Show

Presented by The Serenity House of Flint at The Jam Shack

Recovery-focused gatherings are essential to a healthy community. Flint Recovery Music & Art show is a celebratory event with the intent to bring music and arts to those who are in recovery and their friends and family. According to UNITE to Face Addiction coordinator Greg Williams, 83 million Americans are touched directly or indirectly by addiction. Events like this one are necessary to eradicate the stigma of addiction and recovery and to act as an outreach platform for those who are still suffering from addiction.

This event will be held in Flint at 5411 North Saginaw Street at The Jam Shack of Green Union, a 501(c) 3 non-profit that specializes in live music events. Doors will open at 5pm. Guests will enjoy food, vendors and an art show with art from various artists in the recovery community. Musical performances along with speakers will take the stage at 7pm. Enjoy performances by Cara, Hunter Burt and Shiba Palmer and speeches from Deborah Garrett of REAL Detroit and authors David Stashko and Sara Vos. Artists Desiree Severn, Mindy Palmer and Christy Soulshine will show their art with a few doing live art demonstrations.

Expected participants include people in recovery from addictions to alcohol and drugs, as well as their families, friends, addiction-treatment professionals, elected officials and other allies in drug addiction recovery. Capacity is 250 and our aim fill the space completely.
